Central Criminal Court: Indictments
Indictments at the Central Criminal Court which commence criminal proceedings and set out the nature and date of the offence. They are generally endorsed with the plea of the accused and the jury's verdict. The series also includes subsidiary documents, such as commissions of judges, coroner's inquisitions, gaol deliveries, recognizances, warrants to appear and jury summonses.
The indictments are arranged chronologically, and those between February 1835 and August 1858 are separated into categories for felony and misdemeanour. From September 1858 the two categories are filed together.
