Title: Chancery: Miscellaneous Inquisitions
Description:

A number of the varied inquisitions in this series arose out of rebellions against the king and cases of treason.

Some of the inquisitions concerning rebels, from 1265 and later, contain minute returns from every county and hundred of the names and possessions of all persons who were implicated in the rebellion of Simon de Montfort.

Other inquisitions, concerning forfeitures from the reign of Richard II, consist of inquisitions as to the possessions of persons against whom treason proceedings were taken in 1388 and 1397. Many of the later inquisitions took place following the rebellions of 1400 and 1403 against Henry IV.
