Description:

Salaries register No1. Gives details of salaries for clerks in the following departments: coaching, locomotive, goods, stores, engineering, construction, audit, superintendents and secretary's departments.

Gives name, date of first appointment, and details of yearly salary from 1840-1846. Also mentions staff transfers between departments, dismissals and resignations.

Includes regulations of the salaries for clerks, details of possible salary increase over time and some conditions of employment.
