Files of the Experimental Section Royal Engineers, which subsequently became the Air Defence Experimental Establishment of the War Office and of its successors at the Ministry of Supply, of the Air Ministry's Bawdsey Research Station and its successor the Telecommunications Research Establishment of the Ministry of Aircraft Production and of the Ministry of Supply; and of the Royal Radar Establishment.

The records in this series were created by the Establishment and its predecessors when under the control of the War Office, Air Ministry, Ministry of Supply and Ministry of Aircraft Production. The records consist of the following main groups:
