Admiralty: Supplementary Records
This series consists for the most part of records supplementing or in continuation of other Admiralty and Secretariat classes, namely:
Out-letters: letters relating to signals, 1814 to 1818. Port and standing instructions, 1830 to 1878. Military Branch letter books, 1859 to 1869 (home and foreign stations and Civil Department).
Registers of correspondence, 1855 to 1868. Legal, Military and Secret and Political Branches and miscellaneous. Marriage certificates, 1806 to 1902. Officers' reports of their marriages, with maiden names of wives, dates and places of marriage and other particulars.
Passing certificates, 1851 to 1902. Lieutenants, masters paymasters, boatswains, gunners and others.
Courts martial. Alphabetical index under names showing the charge, sentence, etc, 1803 to 1856, and chronological register, 1812 to 1855.
Board Room Journals, 1842 to 1880. Index of ships, etc., in each volume.
Niger expedition, 1840 to 1842. Original correspondence papers, letter book, etc, of the expedition.
Port and station order books, 1858 to 1867, and a captain's order book 1916 to 1917. Secret and confidential documents, 1844 to 1856.
