Official and semi-official correspondence of Earl Alexander of Tunis, Supreme Allied Commander Mediterranean Theatre, 1944 to 1945. The records cover planning of, and operations during, the campaigns in North Africa, Sicily and Italy and several pieces contain maps.
The letters were catalogued in 1947 when Lord Alexander was Governor-General of Canada, and the original index, included in the series as piece 70, gives a concise description of the contents of each file.
