War Office: War Diaries (Supplementary), First World War
These diaries and extracts contain the daily records of events, reports on operations, intelligence summaries, etc of headquarters, army, corps, divisional, regimental and other commanders, including those of colonial contingent, in all theatres of war during the war of 1914-1918.
This series used to be closed for 75 years, although access was granted to readers who signed an undertaking not to disclose names or sensitive material from the records. However the whole series is now open and an undertaking is no longer required.
This series of diaries or extracts has been transferred from the main series of war diaries (WO 95).
The series is arranged by theatres of war and within each theatre by headquarters, armies, corps, divisions and lines of communication troops.
