Catalogue descriptions: The following conventions have been used when cataloguing the following major types of property transactions.
Grant - this has been used (in its modern sense) for the basic conveyance, in Latin 'dedi, concessi et ... confirmavi'. A document has only been described as an enfeoffment when it is specifically described as such in the document.
Quitclaim - as a disclaimer of future interest in the property to the new owner, for the Latin 'remisisse, relaxasse et quietaclamasse'.
Lease for 'tradidi, concessi et dimisi'.
