Description:

Otto WITT, alias WEGGENER: German. An anti-Nazi follower of Otto Strasser's 'Schwartze Front', WITT came to London in 1942 at SOE instigation with a view to his use for broadcasting anti-Nazi propaganda to Germany. His value in this respect was short-lived, as suspicions grew that his purpose in coming here was to act on behalf of German Intelligence. Despite prolonged interrogation, these suspicions were never resolved and he was detained for the duration of the war
