Draft letter from the Poor Law Commission to J and W Rees Mogg [John Rees Mogg and William Rees Mogg], Clerks to the Guardians of the Clutton Poor Law Union, acknowledging receipt of lunatic returns for year ending 15 August 1843. The Commissioners seek further information regarding cases that might be cured by referral to asylum, noting more recent cases have more chance of a cure. They also ask for the date when Hannah Maggs and Virtue Tipper were sent to Dr Langworthy's asylum at Box where they are now inmates. Paper Number: 11785/B/1843. Poor Law Union Number 374.
